Tom Ford, formerly creative director of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, launched his own label in 2005 and opened his first menswear store on Madison Avenue in New York in 2007. The house is known for sharp tailoring and rich suede and leather; since 2023 its fashion line has been run by the Zegna Group.
